SUNDAY the 13th

This day is somewhat a heavy day of all my days.
Most of us avoid Friday the 13th but I have my own date to be sad and avoid, I guess...
Its SUNDAY the 13TH...
I am letting go a part of me, actually BIG part of me...

July 13, is the day when I bring @Bughaw to Quezon Province,my first own Dog, the love of my life, the very reason why I have this blog..

This big decision for a bigger reason.

I need to relocate my other 12 dogs and that includes Bughaw. Whhhhyyyyyy? That is the worst question I ask myself... Aside from health condition and financial reason, Bughaw had been a part of my former US. I can not move on with my life seeing Bughaw waiting for her other master everyday.
I will let her find a family where she can also start a new life coz I need to start mine too.

We need to be separated and with Bughaw's condition, she's 7yrs old, she need a fresh air to breath and a wide place to run and bark all her life. Quezon province is the best place for her to stay as well as her kids

They are all love and well taken care by Me, BUT because I am living alone and with my asthma and all, I need to let them find a better place away from me.

Taking care of Dogs is not just saying "MAHILIG KASI AKO SA ASO (A dog lover)",  a big responsibility is now on your shoulder and if they think they are no longer capable of providing the needs of their pets then its time to make a big decision. A responsible Dog owner and lover also thinks of their pet's need and their own health.

You are forever LOVE ..
Thank you for your loyalty and sweetness.
I can not explain the loneliness without you but this is part of moving on.
See you soon Bughaw, I LOVE YOU and  I know we will meet again, a season of our own...

Food for my Thoughts

Food for my Thoughts

It's almost midnight but the my world is still awake..
This is the very time of the day that I hate the most...
Everything is okay, I fixed our dogs' food for tomorrow and here I am getting ready to sleep (actually, I was here earlier but just can't sleep), suddenly my tummy start to shout "i am ready to rumble!!!" (again?)
And so ,I start to divert myself, i opened my +Facebook, +Instagram .then i go, browse... browse... browse...

But for heaven's sake, i just realize that my eyes keep on flipping the photos of foodsssssssss!

How CRUEL can this tummy be to me. I still can't move on with the food that we ate from +4Fingers Crispy Chicken . They have a big serving and the taste......hmmm I can't get enough, I still can eat another burger. Yes the chicken is crispy but not too crispy.

The store had a red feature which according to research, it makes a person hungry. Maybe this is the reason why I crave for more. hehehe.

When it comes to price, it ranges from Php 150 to Php 250, which is not far from the price of +Jollibee, +KFC - Kentucky Fried Chicken  and  other fast foods, this is just right. Foods are good for sharing, not bad to bring your barkada their before going in to +IMAX SMCinema which is at the right side of +4Fingers Crispy Chicken. In short, we got an affordable and budget wise meal.

Friendship : Clique to Click

Clique to Click
By: Mole Antolo

Everybody needs someone to lean and depend on. Someone to talk with may it be in our home or in the office, when time gets tough. Sounds something romantic? You might think that it is a late valentine article and not proper for a Marching month, right?

In our busy life, we missed to notice that from simple introduction to each other, our classmates or office mates, and even our neighbors becomes our best buddy.  We spent most of our time in the office, school and even other houses (making chismis) , and find ourselves soaked with work-load but thanks to our Best Full-Force Friend or BFFF, my own version of BFF. They just saved the day by their simple words of encouragement, funny and corny jokes, simple chit-chat  we divert our stress and give ourselves a little laugh and thankful enough for reminding us that “hey you are not alone in the office so don’t stress yourself too much”. Not only do work friends provide social benefits, especially when it comes to going to lunch or taking a coffee break, but they also serve in a variety of supporting roles, including sounding board, cheerleader, workplace confidante, honest critic and back-up player, to name a few.

A recent Robert Half International survey found that 63 percent of employees and 57 percent of executives polled said that office productivity also increases with office camaraderie. Some offices recognize these benefits and so they make a point that every team engaged in a team-building activities to foster closer bonds among employees.
Here are some tips to have a good working relationship with our office mate but at the same time our work will not be sacrifice, let us march to check out some of my tips that works:

  • Choose your associates carefully - Workplace relationships should enhance your career, not hinder it. Be very careful to those people who wear transparent mask. They make sound like your ideal friend but in reality they are the worst people you wish you never meet. Just be yourself even if they are not.

  •     Don’t become cliques = Be careful in forming such close bonds with select coworkers that you’re viewed as part of a two-person clique. Fellow employees may be less likely to share information with you because they fear that it would automatically be shared with your office pal. So while it’s generally acceptable to have close friends at work, be aware of the need to maintain your own personal identity in the office, and always assume an inclusive distance in your interactions with colleagues.
  •    Keep your socializing in check = Never forget that work comes first.  If you’re not careful, these seemingly harmless but long conversations will become a distraction to everyone and become hindrance in office productivity. So be true others and not someone you are not. Even if you don’t wish to become popular, you will, because everybody would love you in their own way because they see real you.
  •   Be a friend, not a doormat. = Don’t let overly demanding or needy colleagues take advantage of a close relationship. . Also, don’t hesitate to re-evaluate the relationship if it seems that your friend is never available to return the favor when you’re in a jam. You are a friend willing to listen and even give your opinion but never let your friend treat you like you are a doormat, that you are just their to absorb all her/his woes in life.

Friend will always be a friend, near or far. Ready to listen and be with you even you are miles away. Distance is not reason for two people to communicate, that why we have technology now. We have many means to communicate with friends, +Facebook, +Skype  and +Twitter , delete those in your phone if you're not gonna used those stuffs.

Coffee and lunch breaks remain the best time to catch up on the non-work topics you have in common with professional friends. So take it easy and laugh a bit.  Anyone who has ever had a close friend in the office knows these relationships can make work life more enjoyable even after office hours.

Amazing AVILON ZOO

AVILON ZOO, amazing animals to see
by: Mole Antolo

Travelling is one of my favorite relaxation. Every year, my partner and I make sure that our long vacation is something memorable. We consider vacation our precious time away from work. We often visit places and never missed to take photos. The beauty of nature gave me the reason to thank more to life.

So one of our vacations,we decided to make a short trip to AVILON ZOO , located in Barrio San Isidro,Rodriguez,Rizal. Before we started our little adventure, we asked friends how to get there. Unfortunately no one where able to help, because maybe the place is not very accessible to commuters, nobody can give us instruction on how to get there. They advice us, to rent a vehicle to make our trip easier. Hmm.. it is not a good suggestion for a "+kuripot" like me. Instead of paying for the vehicle, it will be more beneficial to add it to my "baon" budget instead.

Since we are so eager to get there through commute, we did a research of our own just to push our plan.

Here are my simple steps on HOW TO REACH +AVILON ZOO:

1. DIY or the DO-IT-YOURSELF Research:  We search the exact location of Avilon zoo then find some landmark along the road through the help of "+Google Map" for our road reference, it is important that you know how to read map. I take notes of the landmark, this is very important a road tripper need to remember , like what store, gasoline station , bank or school near the place you want to visit.

2. Get-up EARLY!!! : We woke up early and left at 4:35 am to be exact.(Hindi naman kami excited no?). We are from Cavite , so we avoid rush hour and wanted to be in Rizal early. We give ourselves a 1 hour buffer for our travel time. Check the "how-to -get there" , it did help us, I hope it will help you too. hehehe.

3. Make friend with Manong driver: Tricycles are the only means of transportation to the zoo and it is always special trip, meaning even if you ride alone you will still pay the fare of 60 to 80 pesos, quite expensive since the tricycle is quite difficult to maneuver because of the rough road, so the fare is fair enough. I suggest make friend to Manong tricycle driver so you can request him to return and fetch you  (for sure) in  your requested time. Tricycle drivers don't stay long there because they can't get a passenger since most of the visitors of Avilon zoo often have their own car or service.

The zoo opens at 8:00 am , so we waited for 30mins in +Noah's park resort , just beside the Avilon , they have a small sort of cafeteria inside so we have a coffee and crackers for breakfast. When the zoo finally open,"Wow! Sulit ang biyahe!", these are the words I utter upon seeing the amazing view and animals inside. +Avilon zoo is a large wildlife facility for both animals and plants, and my eyes just can't get enough of the beauty inside the zoo. From different beautiful birds, reptiles, fresh water fishes to animals that I only see before in Disney channel, now came to life before my very eyes! Probably it would take you 3 to 4 hours to stroll and visit the different animals.

The kids and the kids at heart would surely love this place. There is also a small souvenir shop if you want to buy +pasalubong. Although the place is not very accessible but I guarantee it is one place where family and friends should bond. I hope my blog  gave you an idea on where to go on your next trip in the city.

Animals are God's gift to human and taking care of those creation of God is our way of saying "thank you Lord. You are really great!"

ASPIN owners? Stand up and be PROUD

A Salute for Philippine Dog: AsPin
By: MOLE Antolo

"+ASPIN”, short for +ASong Pinoy or Philippine Dog, is now the official call for Philippine’s local dogs not the usual “ASKAL” short for ASong Kalye or stray dogs. Personally, I really does not agree on calling them Askal since they are well taking cared. Some might says “ ang arte naman neto, ASKAL lang naman ang aso ” because I believe that even dogs have the right to be recognized as to what they really are.

The difference of the two is that that from the word it self:

+ASPIN – Asong Pinoy is much proper tag for Philippine dogs and also acknowledge by +PAWS Philippines. This local breed dogs are dogs belong to a family and well taken care of.
Bughaw - 3rd week old
ASPIN are smart too. Remember "+Tabang", who risk his life to save his human? or "+Saver" the wonder dog who knows every trick a hybrid dog knows?  We have 12 dogs but we never have problem with their poops, we place old newspapers on the corner of our house and they know that it is the place for there poops and pee. (Show you photos on my next post).

I find ASPIN no difference compare to other breed of dogs. They are all the same; it is just a matter of how they are taking care of their humans.
Bughaw - 2yrs old.taking nap after playing

If you are planning to have one you need to be ready to gave them the following:
  1. They need to be feed properly - Dogs loves to eat but be aware of their diet. Give them delicious and nutritious food to ensure they have a long, happy and healthy life as possible. A carrot is good substitute for commercial dog treats.  NO CHOCOLATE please even if they you gave the cutest eyes. Chocolate and raisins are bad for dog’s health. It sometimes causes their death.
  2. Safe shelter – When Bughaw was still a puppy we are content to live in a studio type of apartment but as Bughaw started to grow, we plan to move to a bigger house. Dog need a spacious place to move around. They are not like humans that whatever space it is, we can adapt easily. As a responsible pet owner you should be more considerate to your pet to avoid them from getting stress ( *a dog’s yawn is not a sign of being sleepy but a sign that they are very stress), but be sure to house train them well so that you will not get stress instead.
  3. Plenty of hugs - This is the best thing your dog need. Dogs are like babies if treated right. When they are relaxed, extremely comfortable in their environment, and are “just chilling” with the person or people they love best. Just allow them in an environment of intimacy because they will absorb the love you give them.

Bughaw's Halloween costume

This is to give +Dog Lovers, like me, a good pat on the back for raising +wonderful dogs. For me, Dogs are like babies if treated right. They can make you forgot the whole day stress.

Dogs do smile. Look at +Bughaw make that sweet smile (hehehe.love my own).

What you gave is what you get back in return.
You gave your pet your love and they will surely love you for real.

Good fortune will come to those who love God's creation.

Dumaguete City - best place to relax and enjoy

Dumaguete City - best place to relax and enjoy
by: Mole Antolo

I will not sound biased just because half of my youth was spent in Dumaguete city. Way back 2 decades ago, I just love running around the simple streets of  the City. We used to leave just a few blocks away from my school, so I'm one of the many Dumaguëtenos who just love to walk from one place to another. Even before, tricycle was one of the prime means of transportation here.

November 2013 was one the best month and year in my entire being. After 1989, I was blessed to visit again Dumaguete, my hometown even though I was not born here, I consider half of my life stays here forever. After 2 decades, I finally met my 3 siblings from my father's side and Alas! I got 3 instant tour guide. Hehehe! So they tour us around the city.

We Start off with Quezon park which is also near Cathedral church.
Big SIGN taken at the Park in Dumaguete with my Siblings.

The Fruit Marang
Marang was the first fruit offered by Mommy when we get there. Not Bananas or Mangoes which are common, but Marang. To be honest, in my 30years of existing, this is my first time to eat MARANG and taste soo good.
fruit called "MARANG"

Few places to See

My 3 tour guide bring us in Quezon Park, where I get to see the Bell Church where I used to go when I was about 8 or 9 years old. Big change in the park from where I used to play around. No more "comics stands" on the sides, my favorite place in the world. I used to read 5 to 8 local comics in one sitting. I check the old location of my favorite place, but i see it no more. Big improvement and more safer for the children to play around.

Just across the street you will see the Cathedral Church where you will find Dumaguete's landmark, the Dumaguete Belfry.

Silliman University
Dumaguete City is known for this university. The university offers courses fits for every youth. You can visit their crocodile farm, auditorium etc. I used to dream of studying here when I was a kid but due to some twist of fate I studied in Manila. At least my 3 siblings graduated here , all graduated as Magna Claude. I guess they inherit their brains from their eldest..hehehe! Love my own.

+Silliman's shuttle bus is the recent addition to the university facilities.
Rizal Boulevard
In the morning, we walk from Cathedral Church to Rizal boulevard. I told you, transportation is not a problem here. Cool air breeze. Smooth wind that blows my face reminds me of my childhood, I felt a little pinch in my heart but I whisper in the wind "Mama, I am glad. I am home again".

FOOD for taste buds

FOOD.. of course who wants to missed the food. Jo's chicken inato or grilled chiken was superb at a very affordable price. My Dad treat us all here for dinner. You will eat all up to the bones, because it's just so juicy and tasty. The exciting part here is you will eat using your hands only that's why its called "kamayan".

For Night life, just to satisfy our watery mouth with few beers and all, we really enjoyed the foods and drinks here in BLUE MONKEY GRILL near Rizal boulevard by night. Nice place to chat and chill. The price here are so affordable so you won't worry much with your budget.

So if you happen, to visit Dumaguete have a few drinks here. Waiters will served you with smiling faces.

Sans Rival Cakes and Pastries

Sans Rival is additional satisfaction for our taste buds. Early morning on our 2nd day, we have our breakfast at +Sans Rival Cakes and Pastries located at San Jose street near Rizal Boulevard. The place is cozy and relaxing.

Looking for Adventure?

Adventure? Here is the newest dare devil experience here in the Philippines found in Dumaguete. Zip Line @ Tierra Alta in Calindagan is just a few minutes away from city proper. My youngest sister and my partner are brave enough to try. Me? maybe next time. Just maybe..hmmmm..hehehehe..

Where to Stay?
I recommend a clean and at the same time cheap hotel, the +GoHotels. It was a few steps away from Robinson place Dumaguete which is located at the city proper. The place are all automated, the price is very affordable. With our 2 days and 3 nights stay there, we only spent 3000 pesos plus with shuttle from the hotel to the airport.

Ever Mall was used to be Ever Theater.

Our few days stay in +Dumaguete City is one of my memorable and relaxing vacation ever, and will go back their to visit more nice places outside the city proper. There are other places not included in the attached photos. If you want to see MORE photos, you may visit my FB account. We really enjoy our vacation but at the same time did not spent much. This is the place which you can get to spent your free time to relax and not worrying your budget.
